The Book of Psalms, Chapter 11ΨΑΛΜΟΙ ΙΑ′

Each verse opens with the running Greek, an English translation, and a discourse note (its connective, relation, and role in the argument). Below follows the word-by-word breakdown in six tiers: gloss, case (color), parsing, syntax, semantic force, and a lexical note.

Case Nominative Genitive Dative Accusative Vocative Verb (no case) Indeclinable

Discourse notes head each verse: relation · connective · clause-flow. Indentation marks prominence — flush-left = main line of argument; indented = supporting / subordinate material.

Theme

Faithful speech has vanished, and the psalm waits for the Lord's pure word to answer human arrogance.

Translation & textual notes

The Greek text of Psalms 11 follows the standard critical text of the Septuagint as established in the Rahlfs-Hanhart edition (Septuaginta, rev. ed. 2006), an ancient and public-domain text; the critical apparatus is not reproduced. It laments the collapse of faithful speech in human society: the devout disappear, truth diminishes, neighbors trade empty words, and arrogant speakers imagine themselves answerable to no lord. Against that public corruption the psalm sets the Lord's own response. He rises for the oppressed, his sayings are pure like silver repeatedly refined, and his guarding word stands over against the duplicity of the age. The final verse keeps the tension visible by noting that the wicked still circulate, even while divine regard and preservation remain decisive. Versification follows the LXX.
