The Book of Psalms, Chapter 91ΨΑΛΜΟΙ ϞΑ′

Each verse opens with the running Greek, an English translation, and a discourse note (its connective, relation, and role in the argument). Below follows the word-by-word breakdown in six tiers: gloss, case (color), parsing, syntax, semantic force, and a lexical note.

Case Nominative Genitive Dative Accusative Vocative Verb (no case) Indeclinable

Discourse notes head each verse: relation · connective · clause-flow. Indentation marks prominence — flush-left = main line of argument; indented = supporting / subordinate material.

Theme

The wicked flower briefly, but the righteous stand fresh and fruitful in the Lord's courts.

Translation & textual notes

The Greek text of Psalms 91 follows the standard critical text of the Septuagint as established in the Rahlfs-Hanhart edition (Septuaginta, rev. ed. 2006), an ancient and public-domain text; the critical apparatus is not reproduced. A Sabbath thanksgiving that contrasts the brief flowering of the wicked with the durable joy and fruitfulness of the righteous before God. The singer delights in God's works, confesses that shallow minds miss the depth of his purposes, and closes with the planted faithful flourishing in God's courts into old age so they can keep declaring his uprightness. Versification follows the LXX.
