The Book of Habakkuk, Chapter 3ΑΜΒΑΚΟΥΜ Γ′

Each verse opens with the running Greek, an English translation, and a discourse note (its connective, relation, and role in the argument). Below follows the word-by-word breakdown in six tiers: gloss, case (color), parsing, syntax, semantic force, and a lexical note.

Case Nominative Genitive Dative Accusative Vocative Verb (no case) Indeclinable

Discourse notes head each verse: relation · connective · clause-flow. Indentation marks prominence — flush-left = main line of argument; indented = supporting / subordinate material.

Theme

The Lord's saving march turns trembling into joy that survives loss.

Translation & textual notes

A prophetic prayer-hymn reimagines the Lord's saving power through a theophanic march from the south, blending liturgical refrain, exodus-war imagery, and personal trust. It moves from fearful remembrance of divine acts into cosmic upheaval, national deliverance, and finally a confession of joy that endures even agricultural collapse.
