The Book of Psalms, Chapter 108ΨΑΛΜΟΙ ΡΗ′

Each verse opens with the running Greek, an English translation, and a discourse note (its connective, relation, and role in the argument). Below follows the word-by-word breakdown in six tiers: gloss, case (color), parsing, syntax, semantic force, and a lexical note.

Case Nominative Genitive Dative Accusative Vocative Verb (no case) Indeclinable

Discourse notes head each verse: relation · connective · clause-flow. Indentation marks prominence — flush-left = main line of argument; indented = supporting / subordinate material.

Theme

Deceitful accusation is answered with fierce imprecation and an appeal for vindication.

Translation & textual notes

The Greek text of Psalms 108 follows the standard critical text of the Septuagint as established in the Rahlfs-Hanhart edition (Septuaginta, rev. ed. 2006), an ancient and public-domain text; the critical apparatus is not reproduced. This long Davidic lament moves from complaint about deceitful accusers into one of the Psalter's sharpest imprecations, asking that the malicious enemy experience the very ruin he has loved to invoke on others. The middle section traces the curse through office, household, memory, and reputation, grounding the plea in the enemy's refusal of mercy toward the poor and brokenhearted. The final movement turns back from curse to petition as the speaker asks for rescue, asks that the divine hand be recognized, and anticipates thanksgiving before the congregation because the Lord stands at the right hand of the needy. Versification follows the LXX.
