The Book of Psalms, Chapter 67ΨΑΛΜΟΙ ΞΖ′

Each verse opens with the running Greek, an English translation, and a discourse note (its connective, relation, and role in the argument). Below follows the word-by-word breakdown in six tiers: gloss, case (color), parsing, syntax, semantic force, and a lexical note.

Case Nominative Genitive Dative Accusative Vocative Verb (no case) Indeclinable

Discourse notes head each verse: relation · connective · clause-flow. Indentation marks prominence — flush-left = main line of argument; indented = supporting / subordinate material.

Theme

Procession, wilderness memory, royal triumph, and universal praise surge together around God's ascent to Zion.

Translation & textual notes

The Greek text of Psalms 67 follows the standard critical text of the Septuagint as established in the Rahlfs-Hanhart edition (Septuaginta, rev. ed. 2006), an ancient and public-domain text; the critical apparatus is not reproduced. A triumphal procession hymn that binds the ancient ark-cry, wilderness memory, Zion theology, and universal praise into one long movement. The poem opens by summoning God to rise and scatter his enemies, then contrasts their disappearance with the joy of the righteous and with God's care for orphans, widows, prisoners, and the solitary. From there it remembers the divine march through the wilderness, the shaking of Sinai, the restoration of a weakened inheritance, and the heralded victory that culminates in the chosen mountain, God's innumerable chariots, and the ascent on high. The final third turns toward daily blessing, crushing judgment on persistent foes, a visible sanctuary procession, petitions for renewed strength, and the gathering of tribute and praise from the nations, until the chapter closes by blessing the God who gives power to his people. Versification follows the LXX.
