The Book of Isaiah, Chapter 25ΗΣΑΪΑΣ ΚΕ′

Each verse opens with the running Greek, an English translation, and a discourse note (its connective, relation, and role in the argument). Below follows the word-by-word breakdown in six tiers: gloss, case (color), parsing, syntax, semantic force, and a lexical note.

Case Nominative Genitive Dative Accusative Vocative Verb (no case) Indeclinable

Discourse notes head each verse: relation · connective · clause-flow. Indentation marks prominence — flush-left = main line of argument; indented = supporting / subordinate material.

Theme

The fallen city gives way to trust, feast, and swallowed-up death on Zion.

Translation & textual notes

Isaiah 25 in the Septuagint turns the collapse of the arrogant city into a liturgy of trust and then widens into an eschatological feast on Zion. The Greek foregrounds the Lord's ancient and true counsel, his sheltering of the poor, and the striking sequence in which death is swallowed, tears are removed, and Moab's pride is trampled, so the chapter moves from praise through universal promise to anti-pride judgment.
