The Book of Isaiah, Chapter 26ΗΣΑΪΑΣ ΚϚ′

Each verse opens with the running Greek, an English translation, and a discourse note (its connective, relation, and role in the argument). Below follows the word-by-word breakdown in six tiers: gloss, case (color), parsing, syntax, semantic force, and a lexical note.

Case Nominative Genitive Dative Accusative Vocative Verb (no case) Indeclinable

Discourse notes head each verse: relation · connective · clause-flow. Indentation marks prominence — flush-left = main line of argument; indented = supporting / subordinate material.

Theme

The strong city sings of trust, discipline, and life beyond death.

Translation & textual notes

Isaiah 26 in the Septuagint is a song of the secure city, but it is also a meditation on trust, judgment, discipline, and resurrection hope. The Greek keeps the movement from the opened gates and straight way of the righteous to the failure of the ungodly, then turns into communal prayer, labor-pain imagery, and the promise that the dead will rise while the Lord's people hide briefly until wrath passes.
