The Book of Micah, Chapter 3ΜΙΧΑΙΑΣ Γ′

Each verse opens with the running Greek, an English translation, and a discourse note (its connective, relation, and role in the argument). Below follows the word-by-word breakdown in six tiers: gloss, case (color), parsing, syntax, semantic force, and a lexical note.

Case Nominative Genitive Dative Accusative Vocative Verb (no case) Indeclinable

Discourse notes head each verse: relation · connective · clause-flow. Indentation marks prominence — flush-left = main line of argument; indented = supporting / subordinate material.

Theme

Corrupt rulers and prophets consume the people and doom Zion.

Translation & textual notes

A sustained prophetic indictment falls on Judah's rulers, prophets, priests, and civic elites. It exposes predatory leadership, denounces mercenary revelation and corrupt judgment, and climaxes in the announcement that Zion's sacred status will not shield Jerusalem from devastation when justice has been turned inside out.

And he will say, Hear now these things, leaders of the house of Jacob and remnant of the house of Israel: is it not for you to know justice?

Direct accusationasyndeton
