Translation & textual notes

Isaiah 60 is Zion's great restoration hymn, built around light, pilgrimage, wealth, and architectural renewal. The Septuagint repeatedly frames Jerusalem's future in terms of visible glory, the submission of kings, and the transformation of former shame into durable praise. The chapter culminates by replacing sun and moon with the Lord's own everlasting light, so that cosmic imagery serves the theology of restored communion.
